Ending Summer....
Isn't a nice, messy ice cream what summer is all about? We took this picture at Toby's company picnic which just happened to be at the Portland Zoo. Devera thought this chocolate ice cream bar was the greatest. Mom looks pretty happy too....maybe it's because most of the ice cream actually stayed on Devera...or at least Devera's clothes.

Out Sick

Sorry about no response for a few days...I've been at home sick. It's been a real bummer but I'm starting to feel better now. I should be back with a new special and new Ebay auction in a few days. Hope the week is treating you well.

The Fair & Dahlia Gardens
What a fantastic Labor Day Weekend! Yesterday we took Devera to the Fair and Swan Island Dahlias - - which is this dahlia farm that has acres and acres of dahlias. Devera loved the flowers but was so excited about going to the fair that we weren't there for more than an hour. The fair was full of the usual suspects, cows, rides, elephant ears, ice cream, and free-range pulled pork sandwiches. Ok, that last one surprised us too. The last bastian of complete unhealthy food now even has a somewhat healthy, hormone-free, free-range offering. Anyway, Devera liked riding all of the rides by herself, and with Mommy on the rides that they could both go on (like the Ferris Wheel). She was pretty wiped out at the end of the day, but it was definitely one of the highlights of the summer for her!
